How To Find The Best Shirt For You...

Pablo Cain offers sassy, thoughtful designs on a variety of t-shirt, tank top, sweatshirt and hoodie styles. We offer much more than the hundreds of simple-one-style-t-shirt sites out there.

Honestly, you may need to do a little research to find the best style of shirt for you, but seems like a good investment of time for your twenty+ bucks.

Fit is important. Fabric weight and content are important. Pablo's goal is to make sure you can pick a shirt that matches your favorites in look and comfort.

So, how do you do this? Start with your fave.

Everyone has *that* T-shirt—the one you wear way more than you admit. Use it as your guide!

To measure your favorite tee: lay it flat on a table. Measure width (B) straight across the chest from armpit to armpit, and measure length (A) from the top of the shoulder (by the collar) straight down to the hem. Jot your ideal width and length on a piece of paper or on your hand. You can then look for the perfect match on our size guides.

Check the fabric content of your favorite tee. You might have several favorites when it comes to fabric. Sometimes, you want the warmth that a heavier-weight fabric provides. Sometimes, you want the lightweight softness associated with an athletic tee.

Here is a breakdown of fabric content characteristics from softest/lightest to heaviest. We have included the average fabric weight so you can put some numbers to the fabrics.

Triblend is the lightest, softest fabric. It weighs in at an airy 3.8 oz per square yard. It is made of 50% polyester, 25% ring spun cotton and 25% rayon. If you have a lightweight, performance athletic top, check the fabric content to see if it is a similar blend. Due to their softness, triblend shirts are often preferred in a tighter fit.

Cotton softness depends on how the cotton is woven into the shirt. 100% cotton can mean different things. Airlume cotton tends to be softest and lightest, weighing in at 4.2 to 4.5 oz per square yard. Ring-spun is the next softest and lightest, averaging about 4.5 oz per square yard. If the fabric content is simply 100% cotton or 100% jersey cotton, expect it to be heavier weight and not as soft as ring-spun. Some manufacturers just come right out and call their cotton "heavyweight." That would be the heaviest.

Here is a quick list of fabric types, from lightest to heaviest:

Triblend

Airlume Cotton

Ring-spun Cotton

Jersey Cotton

Heavyweight Cotton

Finding the exact fabric content of your favorite shirt might be difficult, especially if the label is no help. If you can find the make and model of the shirt, you might be able to ask a chatbot to look up the fabric weight and content for you.

You may just have to make your own assessment based on how your favorite shirt feels. Do you like heavy? Do you like light? This might also depend on your planned use of the new shirt. Workout shirts are often lighter and softer than others.

Now that you have assessed your favorite shirt, you can find the information you need about the various styles Pablo Cain offers.

We offer designs in Unisex, Women's and Men's styles. Find the listing you want by matching the design you like (i.e. "Gulf of Mexico") with the type of shirt (Unisex, Women's or Men's.) Once you are on that listing and looking at the style options, you may want to scroll down to a link under the headline "Style Information." This sends you to a page with comparison information and links to specific details about each style. This is where you can match your favorite width and length (and maybe sleeve length) with your favorite.
